Intro to Handbuilding Clay w/ Trudy Swanson!

Over the course of 3 weeks, students will learn the basics of hand building with clay including how to pinch, coil and slab.

Class Schedule:
  • Tuesday, September 3rd (6:00PM - 8:00PM)
  • Tuesday, September 10th  (6:00PM - 8:00PM)
  • Tuesday, September 17th  (6:00PM - 8:00PM)
Curriculum:
  • First week: Learn to wedge & get a feel for clay by making a pinch pot.
  • Second week: Learn to score, slip, & build a coil pot.
  • Third week: Explore texturing & imprinting in clay & build a slab box or other slab piece.
Location
All classes held at Trudy's, 2814 N. 60th Street
(Parking lot directly across 60th street)

Cost
$0-$50 (PAY WHAT YOU CAN) for series of three classes 
All materials provided!

Relaxing and fun

This class is such a treat after a long day! It was so therapeutic to work with my hands and create something. The artist/instructor makes it fun and welcoming.

Fun, interactive and grounding!

What a great class. Each class we got to learn a new formation and Trudy will help or guide us anytime we needed it. I’d that it again if I could!

It has been so much fun. Trudy is so nice and welcoming. Everyone in the class is so pleasing and welcoming to get along with. I’m sad this class is only three classes long. I hope there will be more in the future. I always look forward to Tuesday after next week I don’t what I will do now. Hopefully bff does it again it’s been so so fun!!! Thanks
